Friends’ school has a strong reputation for Badminton. Teams are entered in Ulster Schools’ competitions with both Boys and Girls playing in Year 8, Minor, Junior and Senior League and Cup competitions.

 

2008-9 season was the most successful to date making Friends’ Ireland’s No. 1 school in terms of achievement.

This amount to Friends’ holding 10 out of 12 Ulster Schools’ titles and 4 out of 6 Irish tiltes

 

In the Ulster Schools’ Champion of Champions Tournament, Friends’ School has picked up titles at all levels in recent years. Keady Smith lifted the Minor Girls’ title, Caroline Black the Junior and Ruth Roddis the Senior. In the Boys events Ruaraidh Sim won the Junior title whilst Tony Murphy was runner up in the Seniors.

 

At Ulster and Irish representative level Friends’ are very prominent.
