Welcome to the Home Economics department at Friends' School Lisburn.
Aims
The central focus of Home Economics education is the health and wellbeing of people in everyday living. Home Economics is concerned with the management of resources and with making informed decisions about nutrition and consumer issues. More specifically a study of Home Economics aims:
•To promote skills, knowledge and qualities to equip pupils for life and work.
•To develop practical skills, including the use of ICT.
•To develop an ability to make informed decisions and evaluate choices.
•To help young people adapt to the challenges and experiences of living in a consumer oriented and technological age.
