Liberty IT C# Programming Workshop with Year 13 Students

Liberty IT software engineers drop in to Year 13 Software Systems class to deliver programming 'Masterclass'

Twelve year 13 students were treated to a C# programming masterclass from Liberty IT software professionals, who were visiting the school as part of a wider drive by the company to support schools delivering the new CCEA A-Level in Softwrae Systems Development.

The two Liberty IT software engineers,  David McFadden and David Gibson aSTEM ambassadors Liberty IT, who have offices both in Belfast and Dublin, spend a considerable amount of time visiting schools, both primary and secondary, delivering coding workshops. The workshop they delivered in Friends was hugely benficial to our students and gave them an insiGHT into a typical day in the life of a programmer as well as some very useful coding tips for their projects

Friends' are now offering GCE A Level Software Systems Development (CCEA). Part of this course provides opportunities for students to meet with and learn from industry professionals. There is uge interest in this new A Level subject as parents and pupils realise the ever increasing numbers of programming-related jobs on offer both locally and abroad. An A-Level in Software Systems provides a solid foundation from which students, with an interest in pursuing programming as a potential career, can move seamlessly onto third-level qualifications in this field.
