Modern Languages

Welcome to the Modern Languages department at Friends' School Lisburn.

The Department of Modern Languages is a vibrant Department which offers pupils many opportunities to learn and enjoy languages both inside and outside the classroom. The Department is staffed by nine teachers, joined each year by three Foreign Language Assistants. We teach three languages: French, German and Spanish

Aims

In Modern Languages we endeavour to:

improve pupil’s communication skills
develop their confidence
encourage independence
help them to understand and appreciate other languages and cultures
provide opportunities for pupils to experience life abroad for themselves
