Michelle Laverty from the NSPCC attended a special Assembly at Friends’ School on Thursday 25 March to receive a cheque for £1158.48 presented to her by pupils in Year 8 who had collectively raised the money through participation in a sponsored Hip Hop dance earlier in the term. Michelle was “absolutely delighted by the generosity of the Friends’ pupils” and looks forward to a continuing NSPCC contribution to the School’s Learning for Life and Work programme. She also commented that it was very positive to see young people think about others and respond so readily in a very practical way.
All pupils in Year 8 received badges from the NSPCC to mark their contribution to this event and Mrs Bradfield, one of the Year Teachers for the year group, assisted with the presentation of prizes and badges to the pupils.
