Junior English

Booklovers, thespians and purveyors of rhetoric in the Junior School gather regularly to share their passion for the written and spoken word. Pupils are happy to hone their skills and express themselves in a friendly, relaxed setting. The Junior English Society in Friends’ affords likeminded pupils an opportunity to make new friends and to broaden their horizons.
Junior Book Club

Two Junior Book Clubs are run by our in-house experts – the Year 13 Library prefects – one club is for pupils in Years

8 and 9, and one is for pupils in Year 10.  Each Club is held twice each month, on alternating weeks, and pupils gather to share their

ideas for new reading suggestions, and opinions on books they have chosen to read together.

Everyone is welcome to join in the passionate debates on all things literary and hilarious recounts of favourite characters in

extraordinary situations!

Junior Drama Club

The Junior School have been involved in a range of Drama Productions: ‘Charlie and the Chocolate Factory’ (Oct 2015), ‘Bugsy Malone’ (Oct 2013) and ‘A Christmas Carol’ (Dec 2010). They will now be joining forces with the Senior School for a production of ‘Annie’ which will be performed in October 2017. Pupils from Years 8-13 will be eligible to audition in February 2017 with rehearsals starting shortly after. We will be looking for stage actors, singers and dancers as well as pupils to help with all aspects of production.
