First Aid Evening
Thursday 7th February
7pm - 9pm
We would like to invite you to an informal evening to help learn new first aid skills and update existing knowledge! We will welcome you from 7pm for tea, coffee and biscuits in the staff room before moving upstairs to start at 7.30pm.
Run by Ken Patterson, a qualified trainer, the evening will include demonstrations of CPR and use of a defibrillator, management of choking and some basics of wound management. Ken has kindly agreed to a question and answer session, time permitting, if anyone has any specific first aid queries.
More information about Ken can be found at his website - https://www.firstaidforchurches.org.uk/
If you could please let us know by Friday 1st Feb whether or not you'll be able to attend.
Please get in touch if you have any questions!
THE NEXT COMMITTEE MEETING OF THE OLD SCHOLARS’ ASSOCIATION
WILL BE HELD ON WEDNESDAY 27 FEBRUARY AT 7.30 PM
Friends’ School, which was founded in 1774, has a proud history. It is, in fact, the oldest school in Ulster to the east of the Bann. In line with Quaker tradition records have been carefully preserved and stored material represents a rich collection of information about the School over 240 years. Since 2005 the various records have been brought together into a central archive where they can be consulted more conveniently in a special room. The collection consists of pupil lists, school books, annual reports, curriculum matters, magazines, photographs, memorabilia and a collection of ancient books withdrawn from everyday use in the library. Together they provide a valuable picture of School life over the past centuries and are being constantly supplemented by the addition of current items of future historical interest.
