Friends’ School employs over 150 staff and has a diverse range of employment opportunities, including teachers, administrative and support staff, classroom assistants, grounds and maintenance personnel, and sports coaches.
Staff who come to Friends’ are part of a vibrant school community with an integral role to play in the wider life of the school. Each person has an impact on the lives of the pupils and helps to create an atmosphere in which our young people can grow and flourish.
Staff working at the school enjoy a range of benefits. The school is set in attractive grounds in a convenient location near the city centre and beside Wallace Park. It is within a short walk of the railway station and the bus station. Employees have access to onsite parking and to the full range of facilities on site.
The school currently has an enrolment of 1058 pupils in the Grammar School and a further 157 in the Preparatory Department and Pre-Prep. There are currently 74 teaching and 49 non-teaching members of staff working at the school.
Our values underpin everything we do in school and are encapsulated in the word ASPIRE, which stands for Adventure, Sustainability, Peace, Integrity, Respect and Equality. These are values we seek to model in our everyday lives and which we want each of our pupils to nurture.
Friends’ holds the Green Flag Award, which recognises the good work done in school.
Our Eco Committee organises whole-school activities and leads campaigns to improve the quality of our school environment. This will help us to maintain our surroundings for future generations of pupils, help reduce the environmental impact of the school and foster in our young people a sense of stewardship of the world in which they live.
