Business Studies

Our vision is to cultivate critical thinkers and ethical decision-makers with a global outlook.

We equip pupils with the tools to excel in finance, management, and economic policy, preparing them to thrive in the ever-evolving business world. With a focus on inspiring innovation and leadership, we empower pupils to explore global markets, master entrepreneurial principles, and shape the future as change-makers.

Curriculum

The Specification followed at Key Stage 4 is provided by CCEA. The GCSE course allows pupils to gain insights into real-business dynamics and develop the skills they need to excel in today’s competitive environment.

The Specification followed in Sixth Form is provided by CCEA. A Level Business Studies is a stimulating course that enhances pupils’ understanding of how organisations strive to meet the discerning needs of stakeholders in a constantly-changing external environment.

We offer our pupils opportunities beyond the classroom that foster real-world skills and achievements.

Our commitment to excellence is reflected through the Young Enterprise program, where our pupils have consistently excelled. In 2024, our team was celebrated as the ‘Company of the Year’ and earned the prestigious ‘Creativity Award’ at the UK Final, building on our legacy of success, which includes winning ‘Company of the Year’ in 2015 alongside the ‘Production Award’ and the ‘Founder Award’ at the UK Final. These accolades reflect our commitment to developing future leaders and innovators.

Beyond academic success, our students benefit from engaging with industry leaders. They gain invaluable insights through guest speakers from the Bank of England, Madlug, and GoPlugable, and through educational visits to innovative companies such as Tayto, Ryobi, Asa Abloy and IPC Mouldings. These experiences cultivate entrepreneurial skills, inspire creativity, and provide a comprehensive understanding of the business world.

A qualification in Business Studies can lead to a career in accounting, advertising, finance, investment banking, retail, management consulting, marketing, research, human resources, policy analysts or as an entrepreneur.
