FSL PE, provides a safe and supportive environment and is important for a pupil’s physical development and wellbeing.

A broad and balanced curriculum aims to boost pupils’ confidence in managing themselves in various movement situations. Progressive learning objectives and varied teaching approaches offer enjoyable and challenging experiences. Differentiated tasks ensure all pupils, regardless of ability, enjoy success and are motivated to develop their potential.

Curriculum

Physical Education at Key Stage 3 aims to promote learning through movement.

It fosters active, enjoyable, and challenging attitudes, highlighting the positive impact of physical activity on health and well-being, while encouraging positive sporting behaviour and fair play.

Curricular Physical Education at Key Stage 4 involves pupils planning and engaging in regular physical activity to develop interests, skills, and knowledge, promoting a healthy lifestyle. Pupils can also choose GCSE PE offered by CCEA.

At Sixth Form, senior pupils representing school teams have the benefit of a Games afternoon while Year 13 and Year 14 pupils also have the opportunity to develop their interest and potential career in sport through studying A Level PE (WJEC).
