Friends’ Kids’ Lit team heading to London!

Friends’ had an unprecedented second year of success at the Kids’ lit NI Regional Heat, held at Wellington College, Belfast, on Thursday 2nd November.

This event is certainly one of the biggest highlights of the Library calendar each year.  Our expert team were selected as top scorer in a pre-test held in Library classes and consisted of the following pupils: Rachel Meeke (9D), Megan Wilson (9E), Finn Markwell (8C) and Meabh Quinn (8D).  The team were prepared by Miss Macartney and worked with unfailing enthusiasm through numerous challenging questions, and ten gruelling rounds, at the exciting event. 

The FSL team held a strong position throughout and finished in first place, leading by nine points.  This has qualified them to attend the UK Final, to be held in London on Tuesday 5th December, at St Giles’s School for Girls.

The team were overjoyed to win and preparation and research is underway to get set over the next few weeks!
